This past week, the 3rd grade class finished their unit on voting so they put what they learned into action! Students had their voter registration card in hand and got it validated before they voted. They were voting for which movie they wanted for our movie day. Exercising our civic duty is important and the kids were thrilled to practice.

The Kindergarteners got to do some hands-on learning this fall season! After learning about the parts of a pumpkin, they were able to get their hands dirty and check out the inside of a pumpkin for themselves. They had so much fun squishing around the "guts" while they separated out the seeds. When they were finished, they got to come back the next day and taste test some delicious roasted pumpkin seeds!
As part of their celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) this week, 8th grade Spanish students designed their own sugar skull creatures. Students also discussed the history, traditions, and symbols behind this Mexican holiday and compared it to our celebration of Halloween. They found that it was very different from Halloween, although it includes a few similar elements.
Each week the 8th grade ELA class spends time reading to the 1st graders. It's so great when we can make these connections throughout our school!
The Middle School Drama Club students are ready for their performances this weekend! Come and show your support while they are performing Hooray for Justice! by Renee Clark.
It's almost that time of year! The High School Student Council will now be accepting donations for the annual snowflake store.

On Wednesday, seven FCCLA members traveled to UW Stevens Point for a leadership conference. There, they were able to partake in numerous breakout sessions where they learned skills to bring back to our FCCLA Chapter. Later that night, a few of our members also served soup to the La Farge Fire and EMS workers during their meeting.
