The 3rd Grade students just finished up their life cycle unit and the students had the opportunity to plant their own pot of spinach! In our unit we investigated the similarities and differences of life cycles, identified how living things inherit traits from their parents, and discovered that the environment can influence characteristics of living things. Planting the spinach was a fun way to wrap up the unit!
Second grade recently completed a persuasive writing unit. We wrote letters to either Mr. Hansen, Mrs. Jacobson, or our parents/guardians. Students had to give an opinion and several reasons why their idea was a good one. These letters were very entertaining to read.

There are so many exciting things happening in 1st grade! We have been patiently waiting for our eggs to hatch! On April 11th, the first graders helped place some eggs into an incubator, learned about correct temperature/humidity and began the 21 day countdown. Hopefully the eggs will hatch this week! Once hatched, the chicks will hang out in the 1st grade classroom for a couple days till they head to their new homes. Shout out to Debbie and David Smith for giving us this opportunity!!!
