Delicious and sustainable things are happening in our food service program! Pictured is a current snap of our cooler - local apples from Sunrise Farms, bulk milk for our new milk dispensers, and fresh organic watermelons from our school garden. Also pictured is our new Fork Farms hydroponic system, currently growing romaine lettuce for future salads! Tomorrow's menu features local beef from Billings Creek Angus Farm, roasted sweet potatoes, kale salad (also featuring garden produce), and watermelon for dessert! #EveryStudentEveryDay
Monday marked the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. Ms. Lund's social studies classes took time to watch a video produced by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum (found at https://www.911memorial.org/learn/students-and-teachers/anniversary-schools-DLE-Landing), a slideshow of the memorials in Pennsylvania and the Pentagon made by Mrs. Smith, and read some recollections of that day written by La Farge Staff. Attached are just a few of these memories.
Reminder to those interested in sending your child to 3K that there is an open house Friday morning from 9:00-11:00. Feel free to stop in anytime during that time frame. Please let Miss Grainger know if you have any questions.
The Intro To Agriculture class has been busy assembling our new Fork Farm hydroponic growing system along with starting our very first Romaine lettuce plants. Watch for this growing system to show up in our hallway, we will be growing lettuce for the school lunch program.
