9 La Farge middle school music students attended an Honors Choir at Kickapoo High School on Monday, January 23. Students worked all day with director Karen Zuidema and learned 4 choral pieces that they performed in a concert that evening. Students were able to work together with middle school vocalists from 7 other music conference schools for the day and had a wonderful time learning the music, some great breathing exercises and some fun, new warm-ups. It was a great day of music-making. Participating students were: Macie Fowell, Angel Schlicht, Daisy Nemec, Willow Biermann, Carissa Nemec, Anastasia Swiggum, Logan Huebsch, Benltley Nelson, and Wesley Rose.

Sources of Strength peer leaders participated in a training workshop yesterday to learn ways to continue bringing hope, help, strength, and positivity to our school community by leaning on our strengths when times get tough. Through family support, positive friendships, mentors, physical health, mental health, generosity, spirituality, and healthy activities, we always have a system of support surrounding us to help face life's many challenges. We are not alone and stronger together!

Double header tonight, January 30th.

In 3rd Grade, we have been working on researching and writing expository essays on planets! This process included finding information and taking notes about the size, atmosphere, and characteristics of planets. We then wrote three paragraphs using the writing process of drafting, revising, and editing. It was a very exciting and interesting project!
