Events for Friday, October 14th.
This week is Fire Prevention Week! The first graders had a blast hanging out with Smokey Bear and the La Farge Firefighters on Wednesday at the Station! We learned all about campfire safety, went on a ride in some fire trucks, and even got to use a hose for some target practice!
Elementary students are participating in the Great Apple Crunch today!
FoodWIse and Farm to School asks you to crunch
into locally grown apples at LUNCH on Thursday, October 13th, 2022.
Together, along with Kickapoo Valley Forest
School and La Farge school district, and
MILLIONS of others throughout the Midwest, each
of you will be given an apple from local parent,
Peter Berquist and a sticker. When you take a
CRUNCH out of your apple, put on your sticker to
show your support for local farmers and 2022's CRUNCH.
Events for Thursday, October 13th.
The seventh grade loves our new La Farge School library! It has new comfy chairs for reading, the books are easier to find, because the shelves are now arranged by genre, There are tablets attached to the ends of the bookshelves. This also makes it easier to find books.

On October 7th, juniors and seniors from La Farge High School attended a production of Hamlet at American Players Theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin. The weather was chilly, but the students and their chaperones were thrilled with the performance and the experience at the theater.
Tonight is a night close to our heart and community. We are hosting a PINK night in support of Amanda Nemec and family. Wear your pink and come support a great cause. High School volleyball takes on Kickapoo with JV starting at 6pm and Varsity at 7:15pm. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, shirts for sale, and prizes for fans, as well.
Events for Tuesday, October 11th.
The La Farge National Honor Society will being selling their Chicken-Q tickets at the home volleyball game Tuesday Night. The Chicken-Q fundraiser is Sunday, October 30th. Come support the Volleyball team and remember to wear pink.
Last Thursday, the 4K-2 students went on a field trip to Country Bumpkin. Throughout the day, the students had the opportunity to go on a wagon and "train" ride to pick out a pumpkin, feed the animals, explore the play area, and go through a corn maze. It was a wonderful day and the teachers had a great time getting to know their students better as well as the parents/guardians that were able to join them.
Monday, October 10th events.
A friendly reminder to LFS and KVFS families that there is no school on Monday, October 10! Staff will be engaging in professional development regarding school safety, among other things. We look forward to seeing our students and families back on campus on Tuesday!
On Friday night the high school volleyball team took a trip to La Crosse to watch the #8 ranked Viterbo volleyball team take on #14 ranked Bellevue. The V-Hawks won in a great 3-0 match.

Ms. Lund's AP US History and Early US History classes visited Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison on Wednesday for the 24th Annual Talking Spirits Tour, sponsored by the WI Veterans Museum. They saw four vignettes telling the stories of African-Americans who lived in Madison after the Civil War, and the effects of the Emancipation Proclamation on their lives. 2023 marks the 160th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln issuing the proclamation.
The National Honor Society is teaming up with the American Red Cross and is hosting a blood drive on Monday, October 10. The drive will take place at the school from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There are still donation times available and each donation helps with a scholarship for some of the NHS seniors. Please consider donating! On September 26th, LHS students attended the Career Expo & WI Education Fair located at the La Crosse Center. It was a fun day with a great group of Wildcats!
